To commemorate our 75th Anniversary, we’re developing a new parish cookbook, and we need all kinds of help!

First and foremost, we need recipes! We have already put out the word via the bulletin and the Women’s Society, and we’ll periodically remind you after mass that we need your recipes, especially family favorites and dishes you’ve made for various church functions. We will include some of the special favorites from the Jubilee cookbook, as well, so let us know of any that are tried and true! If you’re in touch with former parishioners or parish priests, please contact them for recipes or pass their contact info onto us!

Second, we’re forming a small committee of folks to select the recipes for testing. If your lifelong passion is to decide what a cookbook should contain, now’s your chance!

Third, we need recipe testers! If you can follow a recipe, have a kitchen, and are willing to try out a few, we want to hear from you. Especially important is that we need photos of the finished product – as well as your feedback on any glitches in the recipe, of course!

Fourth, we need your photos of various church events over the past 75 years, preferably those involving food! Photos of wedding receptions, Valentines’ Day Dinner Dances, Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner,
Fish Frys, Spaghetti dinners… All are welcome; the older, the better! We’ll intersperse these with the recipes!

Finally, we need a name! Since the 75th is the Diamond Anniversary, we might want to include some reference to that most precious stone…

Timeline? We expect to have the cookbook complete for sale at our 2012 Lomita Fair, so we want recipes in hand by Thanksgiving, but no later than Christmas!
